The pandemic has wreaked havoc in the world. We are trying to adjust to the new circumstances and are still struggling to make the ends meet. Most often we end up wondering what we should do with our life because every possible doorway to happier days seems closed. That’s where this book comes into play. What the Heck Do I Do With My Life is a self-help book that lays the foundation of finding your purpose in life so that you live intentionally and not just ‘drift like a log of wood’.
Using a near-perfect analogy and comparing meaningless life to a floating log, the author deftly brings out the importance of accepting oneself for who one is and then finding the niche in which one can excel and be productive. No one would have thought of how severely the pandemic would hit the world. Hence, the author stresses the importance of adapting to new surroundings and having a mindset to start afresh. Assuming life is a game of pitch and toss, it is imperative for each individual to be ready for any sort of gamble. Learning agility, having entrepreneurial skills and being equipped with soft skills are some of the must-haves now. One should not be waiting for a miracle to happen. Instead, one should be ready to cash in on the opportunity.
In a world where ‘passion economy’ is the new trend, this book also offers 10 practical and useful ideas not to get lost in the susurration of the chaotic world. Sharing several incidents from his own life, quoting his mistakes and mentioning the chances that he took, the author successfully weaves a narrative that will come in handy to most young people who are lost in the serpentiform road of life! The only problem I have with this book is the competition already available in the market. It’s an embarrassment of riches for the readers!
A very pragmatic and helpful book! Go for it!
