Ambling Indian Diaries

Rating: 3/5
There is pleasure in the pathless woods, there is a rapture in the lonely shore, there is a society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar; I love not Man the less, but Nature more.
~Lord Byron
‘Ambling Indian Diaries’ is like a memoir- a narrative of the experiences gathered in the course of time. Focusing on some of the most important issues of the society like casteism, patriarchy, politics and poverty, this book hosts a collection of different stories, each voicing out a different theme in a varied setup. Clubbed with wit and humour, the author highlights what’s wrong with society.
With the book market being flooded with contemporary fiction, this story about Aina has something meaningful to offer. An amalgamation of slapstick humour and satire, Aina’s take on different scenarios of life is not only funny but intense. It demands the readers to take a moment to think and reflect.
However, there are several grammatical errors and that was the obstacle in my process of reading. Overall, ‘Ambling Indian Diaries’ will take you on an entourage of our country and also on an expedition to different mindsets and beliefs.
Best wishes to the author!
