I don’t worry. I don’t doubt. I’m daring. I’m a rebel.

‘An Unsuitable Woman’ is a collection of seventeen short stories that introduce us to the female protagonists who are dyed-in-the-wool and carry the attitude of ‘my way or the highway’. Written by some of the more experienced writers, the stories are agonizing yet identifiable. Caught up in the rat race of life and the struggle of gratifying everyone, women have always succumbed to patriarchy. Be it a strife of a single mother or the turmoil of a ‘tomboy’ girl, all the stories portray some of the most common emotions and inspire us to be bold, be strong and be resolute. What might seem like the easiest choice marks the first step towards learning to take a stand!
Cherry picking narratives from lives of different people that can pervade the soul and leave a lasting impression, the authors have tried their level best to present a good collection on the platter.
The cover of the book has been creatively designed; it reeks of struggle, confidence and triumph. Some of the stories seemed out of place; a more precise selection would have worked well.
Overall, the book offers an insightful experience altogether.
