Book Review: Fix It With Food by Kavita Devgan
Fix It With Food
Author: Kavita Devgan
Publisher: Rupa Publishers
Rating: 4/5
Fix It With Food is equivalent to a comprehensive guide that re-introduces you to the food items that form a part of your diet daily. Although we know the face value of these foods, we are unaware of the essential micro-nutrients that these foods comprise. Hence, such a book is very handy because it comes from an experienced nutritionist and a weight management consultant.
Fix It With Food divides the knowledge under three headings. The first part deals with all the superfoods, their benefits, optimum quantity and their uses. The second deals with the tools that can help you become fitter and the last part is a treasure house of 40 recipes that are not only easy to make but also time-efficient. The book is extremely useful as it bursts many myths that surround food items. The author’s prowess to categorize the food items based on the problems that are common to all like hair fall, mood swings, hormonal imbalances, combating the pollution in the environment, immunity boosters, etc is commendable. That makes reading easy and understandable.
I have read many books that are as comprehensive as this one and I cannot judge this book based on what I have already read. What I can say is that if you are looking for a guide that will help you get fit at home by changing your food habits, this book passes the muster. You will enjoy reading and executing the action plan.
Best wishes to the author!
