Rhime of Time

It is said that actions speak louder than words but sometimes, even this adage can be proved wrong. There is so much going on in the world and it is practically not feasible to rectify everything that you feel is not according to your beliefs or standards. Therefore, words are the only medium that helps in expressing the emotions that bottle up within our heart. ‘Rhime of Time’ is such a collection that uses minimum number of words yet expresses the maximum. Rhime is an obsolete form of ‘rhyme’ and thus, I am assuming that the title basically describes the obsolete memories that often cloud our mind and take us down the blind alleyway.
The poet provides descriptions of some of her poems and that, I think, definitely helped me in understanding the poems better. The major themes that the poet touches upon range from relationships and self-discovery to nature and ways of the world. However, the use of four-dotted ellipses are superfluous; every other poem has more ellipses than words! That’s what confused me. If I write more about this grammatical structure, I know my readers are going to be irked. But this was a turn off for me! Some of the poems were definitely beautiful. Bronze Skin, Books and Feelings, Serendipity and Vintage Mom were my favourites.
Overall, Rhime of Time is a short comfortable read. For grammar goblins, this might turn out to be a tough nut to crack!
Best wishes to the poet!
