The Law of Success in Sixteen Lessons Author: Napoleon Hill Publisher: Rupa Publications Rating: 4/5
Non-fiction books are characterized by spectacular opulence of knowledge and that’s their way of attracting readers of all ages towards them. This book that claims to guide the aimless towards guaranteed success was originally published back in 1928 and houses the wisdom of Napoleon Hill, who believed that the foundations of individual success are democracy, harmony, freedom and capitalism. Hence, in this book, which is a reprint of the original, he elaborates the importance of goal-setting, time management, self-control and creativity. In sixteen chapters, he brings out how important it is to have a warrior mindset.
Often, for most people, the spirit is always willing but the flesh is weak. This book, which comprises 16 life lessons, promises to transform the way you look at life, help you set achievable targets and get your mind and body to work consciously and diligently. The last few lessons are imperative, for they instill the courage that is needed to combat failure. These chapters advocate tolerance and reworking from the scratch in order to put up a strong fight against the adversities. The last chapter offers a golden rule too.
Even though most of the success mantras are repetitive, they are relevant for all age groups. I liked how the emphasis on using the mind efficiently has been highlighted throughout the book. Nonetheless, this one is truly a prized possession knowing that it houses ideas of an eminent American author of that time.
