#Review: My Name is Pepper by M. Gaspary

My Name is Pepper
Author: M. Gaspary

Rating: 3/5

What happens when two souls, both struggling in their own right, cross paths? ‘My Name is Pepper’ gives us Leslie and Alexander—two individuals who, at first glance, couldn’t be more different. Leslie, weighed down by her past, is stuck in a cycle of regrets, while Alexander finds himself suffocated by the pressure of his responsibilities. They meet when they’re both at their breaking point, but fate, as it often does, has something else in mind.

As I dove into this story, I found myself immediately connecting with Leslie and Alexander’s desperation. Both of them feel trapped, longing for something more—something real. What I loved was how raw and human they felt. Their pain is palpable, and the growth they experience together is nothing short of inspiring. It’s not just about romance; it’s about rediscovering hope, even when you’ve almost given up on yourself.

But here’s the twist: just when you think they’re finally finding their way, life throws more challenges at them. And as you turn the pages, you’re constantly wondering—can they survive this? Will they be able to build a future together, or is their connection destined to fade away like so many other fleeting moments in life?

The beauty of this book lies in its emotional depth. It doesn’t sugarcoat the difficulties of relationships or our baggage. The story forces you to confront those uncertainties we often try to ignore. And while it keeps you questioning if Leslie and Alexander can make it work, it also leaves you rooting for them, hoping against hope that they’ll beat the odds.

However, the writing suffers because of frequent lapses in grammatical accuracy. The inconsistencies in verbs and tenses, incorrect sentence formations and lack of depth in the writing detract it from overall readability and appeal. A more thorough editorial process could have enhanced the linguistic clarity.

In summation, ‘My Name is Pepper’ is a heart-wrenching, soul-searching journey that reminds us all that even when we feel trapped, there’s always a possibility for change—if we’re brave enough to leap. An intriguing title leaves the readers in love with the characters but flawed writing mars the appeal.
