Book Review: Celebrating Parenthood by Vidhu Bhatnagar
Celebrate Parenthood
Author: Vidhu Bhatnagar
Publisher: Self-published
Rating: 3.5/5
Celebrate Parenthood is a self-help book for all the parents who have lost interest or have given up on the task of parenting. There is no doubt that parenting requires a lot of energy, patience, enthusiasm and interest. But if the routine chores and the constant behavioural issues persist for a long time, the interest might fade away. Consequently, the child bears the brunt of the parents’ actions. This book aims to motivate the parents by encouraging them to look for the light at the end of the dark tunnel.
Quoting personal experiences, the author describes the joy of holding a little one for the first time and goes on to describe the problems that come along. Right from worrying about the right nutrition, temper tantrums and deciding boundaries to giving attention to the child and brewing friendship, this book has it all. Anecdotal evidence always helps in connecting with the author and thus, this book passes the muster with its palatable examples and narrative.
There are grammatical errors here and there. There are superfluous descriptions too. But the content is clear and reading becomes fast-paced. Hence, this is a good read.
Best wishes to the author!
