#Review: Next Patient, Please by Brijeshwar Singh

Next Patient, Please
Author: Dr. Brijeshwar Singh
Publisher: Rupa Publications
Rating: ⅘

Bareilly is my hometown. Hence, this book by Dr Brijeshwar Singh interested me a lot. To think about numerous stories of trauma and hope being collated is alluring! Dr Brijeshwar Singh is a renowned name in Jhumka city. Therefore, reading about his experiences was equivalent to reading stories of people like you and me who rely on the expertise of a medical practitioner for recovery from illness/accident.

In Next Patient, Please, the author uses several anecdotal evidences to highlight the importance of hope in the process of recovery. It is interesting and at the same time, heart-wrenching to read stories about trauma patients and those who are able to foresee what’s in store for them in the future. Avoiding difficult language, the simplicity of the narrative is addictive. It is also the effective use of experience that brings out the vulnerable side of the doctors. Overall, this book offers an honest insight into the lives of doctors and their mental storehouse of numerous stories.

Best wishes to the author!
