#Review: My Little Book of Dreams by Ruskin Bond
My Little Book of Dreams

I have always believed in the power of dreams. No matter how irrational they may seem, we should never stop dreaming, because sometimes, a dream is the first step towards something we never imagined possible. That is what drew me to My Little Book of Dreams by Ruskin Bond.
Through dated entries, Bond records his dreams, ranging from amusing, everyday encounters to unsettling experiences and memories of people and places from his past. His observation that dreams “are usually a mixture of past and present” captures their curious ability to bring forgotten emotions back to life. The recurring appearances of familiar faces, lost belongings and unlikely adventures make the collection feel personal and occasionally surreal.
What I particularly enjoyed was Bond’s effortless storytelling and the intimacy of his reflections. However, readers looking for a deeper exploration of dreams or their psychological significance might find the collection a little light. Not every dream leaves a lasting impression, but that is perhaps the point.
A quiet, quirky read that reminds us that even our sleeping minds have stories to tell.
