#Review: The PQ Advantage by Virender Kapoor
The PQ Advantage
Author: Virender Kapoor
Publisher: Rupa Publications
Rating: 4.5/5
I’ll admit, The PQ Advantage immediately caught my attention because of how unapologetically motivational it looks. The dark cover, the glowing lightbulb inside the “Q,” and the subtitle Why Passion Outranks Intelligence make the book feel less like a corporate handbook and more like a manifesto for driven people tired of being told that IQ and credentials are everything.
Written by Virender Kapoor, the book centres on the idea of “Passion Quotient” — the belief that passion, persistence, and enthusiasm matter more than raw intelligence in long-term success. What stood out to me was how practical the approach feels. Instead of reducing passion to motivational clichés, the author connects it to creativity, resilience, leadership, reading habits, organisational culture, and self-growth.
The writing style is conversational and accessible, filled with anecdotes, quotations, and real-life examples from entrepreneurs, artists, and professionals. I particularly enjoyed the sections encouraging curiosity, experimentation, and cultivating reading habits in children and adults alike.
Visually, the book is clean and reader-friendly, with uncluttered formatting and reflective subheadings. Overall, The PQ Advantage feels energising, practical, and encouraging — the kind of book that pushes readers to rethink success beyond marks, metrics, and comparison charts.
