Book Review: Tomb of God by Victor Ghoshe
Tomb of God
Author: Victor Ghoshe
Publisher: Rupa Publications
Rating: 3.5/5
Tomb of God belongs to the genre of Historical Thriller that traces the adventurous journey of four strangers- Marina, Eric, Aurin and Father Smit to find their missing friend/ companion. Amidst the buried secrets in the sands of time, these four unearth the mystery and truth behind the long-lost civilizations. Interestingly entertaining, Tomb of God brings forth a journey that promises to enthral the readers with excellent plotting, unanticipated twists and some of the most relatable characters.
Eric Roy, the protagonist, strikes the right chord with the readers with his accentuated demeanour and his indomitable spirit. I generally find this genre a little time-consuming and that’s why it took me a while to finish this book. Yet I can confidently say that the smooth narrative and the chronological approach to the events kept me hooked till the very end. Standing the test of time, the friendship among the characters and their willingness to take a leap of faith inspite of knowing the consequences were praiseworthy. Another plus point of this story is its precision. The dialogues are not verbose. The descriptions, however, were loquacious and not to my liking.
Overall, Tomb of God is an interesting read that will take the readers on an exhilarating ride through the timeline of lost civilizations.
Best wishes to the author!
